Welcome to the 2020 - 2021 School Year! The Reeces Creek ES Library is an exciting place to visit. We have a beautiful library that opened seven years ago, with a collection of over 12,000 books and other materials for students and staff to check out. The number will grow over the course of this next school year. Our goal is to have the "just right book" for every student and to encourage life-long reading and learning.
The Accelerated Reader program is used at our school. To check to see if a book has a test, students, teachers and parents are encouraged to go to www.arbookfind.com. Students will have until May 6th to earn a trophy, prizes and certificates. Howl, Coyotes -- Read lots! Our theme for the 2020-2021 school year is: On the Road to Success with AR Reading!
We are excited to have a dedicated space for our Maker Den; however, we will need to see how the school year goes in order to see how much it will be utilized. A special thank you goes out to the district and the KISD Education Foundation for providing the materials needed to start our own Maker Den. To see some of our students' work, please look at the pictures page.
We have eBooks in our library collection. Be sure to check out what is available through our library catalog. It is due to the generosity of the KISD Education Foundation that we now have over 300 eBooks available for our students.
With the new year, we also have over 100 new books for our students. There are many of our students favorites--Dork Diary, the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Wings of Fire graphic novels, Pete the Cat, Bad Guys and much more. Be sure to check out the New Book stand to see the new books as well as the new 2x2 and Bluebonnet Books displays .
A special thank you goes out to the A+ Education Foundation for funding our grant this summer, which includes over 30 new titles and new items for our Maker Den and our newly formed Robotics Team. These items will be introduced to our library during the course of this year.
The staff at the Reeces Creek library includes Dina D'Amore and Sarah Johnson. We look forward to seeing you at the RCES library!
